Dr. Miriam Harris

CGSHE Faculty Member

Dr. Miriam Harris is a CGSHE Faculty Member, Assistant Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine and an addiction expert at Boston Medical Center and Boston University School of Medicine. She attended McMaster University Medical School and completed her internal medicine residency at the University of British Columbia. She undertook a fellowship in general Internal medicine at McGill University, where she also completed a master’s in epidemiology. Following this, she completed an addiction medicine fellowship at Boston University. Dr. Harris’s research interests focus on the intersection of women’s health and addiction including enhancing services for sex workers, substance use in pregnancy, and integrating gender-responsive sexual, reproductive, and HIV prevention services in substance use treatment spaces. Clinically, she provides primary care and office-based addiction treatment in the Women’s Health Unit at Boston Medical Center and attends on the General Medicine units and the Addiction Consult Service at Boston Medical Center.
