Evaluating Inequities in Refugee & Immigrants' Health Access (IRIS)
The IRIS Project is an SFU/ UBC research project hosted in the Simon Fraser University Faculty of Health Sciences and UBC Department of Family Practice, funded by CIHR and Vancouver Foundation (PI: Dr. Ruth Lavergne, Co-PI: Dr. Mei-ling Wiedmeyer, Dr. Shira Goldenberg). The IRISÂ Project aims to understand the health experiences of immigrants and migrants (im/migrants) in British Columbia, generating recommendations for policies, programs and practices that improve health, wellbeing and access to health services in BC for people who are im/migrants. Trans Health Research Project
The Trans Health Research Project is a UBC project led by PI: Dr. Jill Chettiar hosted in the UBC Department of Medicine (Division of Social Medicine) and funded by the Vancouver Foundation, in partnership with PACE Society and QMUNITY. The project evaluates health care delivery in primary, gender-affirming and sexual/reproductive health care. The study investigates factors that impact the accessibility, acceptability and quality of healthcare for trans, Two-Spirit, nonbinary and gender diverse individuals in British Columbia.
